Appcelerator Names Ben Sabrin Vice President of Strategy and Business Development

JBoss Veteran to Build Strategic Partnerships and Further Develop Open Source Rich Internet Application Company’s Strong Management and Technical team

ATLANTA — December 5, 2007 — Appcelerator, Inc., a provider of software products and solutions for rapid rich Internet application (RIA) development, today announced the appointment of open source industry veteran Ben Sabrin as vice president of strategy and business development. Sabrin joins an experienced management team whose goal is to make service-oriented architecture (SOA) a reality by providing a faster, easier and open standards-based platform to build service-oriented user interfaces.

Sabrin was previously vice president of sales for open source pioneer JBoss, Inc., where he had the distinction of being the company’s first non-founder employee. He was a significant factor in JBoss’ success and helped drive average annual revenue growth of more than 150 percent during his tenure.

As vice president of strategy and business development, Sabrin will oversee partnership programs and recruitment. His skills complement those of the company’s co-founders, veteran software entrepreneurs Jeff Haynie, CEO, and Nolan Wright, CTO.

“Ben’s energy and innovative spirit reflect the Appcelerator management team’s passion and commitment to open source,” said Haynie. “His tenure at JBoss, where he drove a steep ramp-up in sales and recruited many of the company’s most influential developers, is testament to his concentration on results and ability to build an open source company that’s focused on growing revenue and profits in addition to a vibrant developer community.”

Sabrin said: “For the past several years, the tech industry has focused on server-side innovation. But recently, the consumer Internet has made people want more—they’ve come to expect better performing, better looking applications. Appcelerator is helping make this a reality by offering a comprehensive, language-agnostic platform for quickly developing rich Internet applications. The company developed the Appcelerator platform with an understanding of end users’ need for more functionality and businesses’ desire to write less code. We think what we’re offering is unique and our early customers have validated that belief.”

Prior to JBoss, Sabrin was director of business development at Pencom Systems, an IT consulting and recruiting firm. In 1997, he helped establish the Atlanta Java User Group. He holds a B.S. in business with an emphasis in marketing from Indiana University.
